The L Word

Wow, another great day on The L Word. Now, I'm just a background performer or extra so I am not making the big bucks and I'll only be able to be seen walking through the background of a shot, but this brush with fame is great fun.

The agency I am with e-mails and calls the night before to tell me where the shoot will be, and they usually send general wardrobe suggestions, so I went today in black dressy shorts, a black tank top and a grey wrap crocheted sweater over top. Turns out it wasn't quite colourful enough so wardrobe went through the few extra outfits I was instructed to bring, and chose a brighter striped green top...so this is what I wore. I had on a pretty black necklace but there were two certain lights above us that caused a lot of jewelry people wore to sparkle a bit too much, and we were asked to remove it.

This was a fun shoot because as opposed to the last one, we were able to mostly sit and watch. The scene I was in with The L Word last time (a few weeks ago), there was a lot of activity and movement, and I was on my feet the whole time - pretty hard for the old Arthritic ankles!

I have been on television and radio as a reporter and host for many of the last 13 years, but haven't done anything that even comes close to the scope of this show. I fell in love with The L Word a few years ago when it was the most sinfully delicious show on cable television. I have since canceled the cable, and do miss the stories of these women. Of course I will have to either hook up the cable again or wait til it's out on DVD to catch my episodes!

The show is so well shot, edited and acted, that it's a real pleasure to be in it and on set with the people who make it happen. And while I know there are readers stopping by my blog from the Media Blvd forum (heeeyyyy!) I absolutely cannot give up any storyline information or spoilers...but I can tell you one thing I have discovered - the cast is hot.

I mean, I have watched the show and I know that they're beautiful, but in reality these women are so hot, they're officially hawt. And they're thin! Some need to put on a few pounds, as a matter of fact.

I think that's all I can say about the show - frankly, it's a lot of "hurry up and wait" and time spent with the others in extras holding, but those few moments spent with the cast that I started watching years ago is one of those great experiences I am happy to have had.
